We initially contacted 3 painting companies to inspect the front of our home to bid on exterior painting to include 2 garage doors and the exterior of our front entry door. Nate, owner of Thunder Bear Painting came within a days notice, offered professional insight how best to prepare and perform the painting required. His crew Aaron, Mike and another female team member began the work; preparing the wood for painting on one day and completed the job within 24 hours thereafter. We are extremely pleased with the final look and attention to detail the team took to caulk, prime, paint and clean up after the job was done! Although the price was slightly more than the other two companies, we chose Nate because we felt we could rest assured the job would get done right and the crew is his own 'not subcontracted' out so you can be confident you'll receive trained professionals working on your pride n' joy! 5 stars! We contacted four local painting contractors to get estimates on the painting of and doing some siding repair on the exterior of our 1988 home. Nate owner of Thunderbear Painting, called back immediately, and came the next morning to walk through the work we wanted done and offer his recommendations. He explained the whole process of prep (power washing, scraping/sanding and repair), followed by priming needed areas and two coats of paint, the work all to be done by one of his own insured crews and not subcontracted. We have a large deck which we wished to have bid separately. Nate noticed and carefully explained several things that I had not realized needed work (none of the other three owners caught or thought to mention these issues). He took time to explain needed interior window work that could be done by his crew, deferred or how I could do it if I wished to so do. He and his crew also helped problem solve/fix a door and window issue not originally discussed. I chose Thunderbear Painting because of Nate's expertise, openness, transparency of the bidding process, ability to have his own crew do the siding repair and painting. His bid was the second highest of the four that I got, but I was confident that our home was in the best hands with Nate and his crew headed by Marco. I didn't have to hire additional contractors for the siding, door and window issues, which was a big plus for me. We are very pleased with our decision and the result. See more See less

Thunder Bear Painting was the right choice of companies to repaint our 2-story foyer and hallway. We obtained three bids for our job and despite the fact that their's was more expensive, after talking with Nate, we knew that they would get the job done correctly. He described what they would do and presented different options. Nate's very knowledgeable and presented everything in a very clear and low pressure way. We had an old wall paper border covering even older hand painted stenciling at the bottom of our walls. Getting all that covered so that it would blend in perfectly would need some special attention and someone who knew just what to do. In addition, our interior front door which had multiple layers of a dark burgundy color needed to get re-painted to get an updated, clean look. Nate and his crew did a marvelous job! We hired this company when we were in the process of moving to MN. Our phone conversations made me feel that I had found a reputable person to hire. The owner was onsite with his crew, which makes a big difference. They cleaned up all dust and supplies every night before leaving. It was impressive. All the tools were organized along a wall, neatly cleaned, stacked and ready for the next day. They did not spray inside but hand rolled everything. We were impressed with their timeliness, friendliness and quality of work that later, we hired them to paint the exterior as well as the lake shack exterior. Highly recommend Nate and his crew. He and his team showed up when they said they would and were actually done faster than we planned.
